I would say, go for it if you are writing on a personal blog that is all about your insights and personal opinions. If its more about how-to's, tutorials, etc, maybe not. Then again, even popular how-to blogs like Problogger.net, SmashingMagazine.com, Line25.com, and the like all have faces to them (Darren Rowse, Vitaly Friedman and others, & Chris Spooner. I think the odds of someone recognizing you is a little far-fetched though. I mean even blogging superstars like Darren Rowse can walk down the street without people gawking. Only bloggers and online-media professionals know who the guy is. In my opinion, it's the best kind of being famous. But, when it comes to doing something in my blog.( err..I think i deleted it!) I don't think I can write anything interesting. My life isn't that interesting. Should I just watch the News? I have a twitter account, and I am not sure what I am suppose to do in there. So, I think reading your blog makes you a Superstar...to me!
