Ideas Without Actions Are Dead
We all have ideas. We all have big ideas; Ideas that work and do wonders to the world – if only we step up and take action to execute our grand ideas to make things happen. Having a good idea is not enough. A masterplan in the mind takes no form until it is executed to bring forth all that it intends to achieve. And here are a few actions you can take to ensure that your ideas are not just ideas in your mind; all it needs is effective execution that brings out the best of you.
Write down your ideas. Draw up a mind map, a chart, a table or even doodles about your ideas so that you won’t lose it when you need to recall it. Most ideas come to us during the most unexpected moments – like when we are showering in the bathroom, or driving in the car, or cooking dinner, or simply talking and listening to someone. With so many things going on in our daily life, a great idea we have may slip off our minds after sometime. So it’s important to write it down when we can. Always bring along pocket-sized notepad if you have to.
Expand your ideas. An apple remains an apple until you do something about it. If you want apple juice, you have to slice it up and blend it. If you want apple salad, you have to cut it up and mix it in a bowl. Look into your ideas. Envision the achievements ahead and think about how to get there. Expand your ideas into work frames, executions and actions. Strategize how to work things around to breathe life into your ideas and make things happen. Ideas not expanded are merely ideas at the end of the day. Start expanding your ideas today!
Share your ideas. When you have a better picture of your big idea, then it’s time to share it with others. Remember to choose carefully the person whom you want to share your ideas with. Choose people whom you can trust, who believe in you, who are willing to listen and share their feedbacks, who can make that idea an even greater one. When you share your ideas, you are allowing others who are out of the idea box to look at the same thought you have in a different perspective. That would help to enhance your ideas and strengthen it. You may even get people who are willing to help you make the ideas come true.
Make it happen. This is the final step, nevertheless is one of the most essential steps in determining if your ideas remain as ideas, or become a great success. You have to step out of your comfort zone and take the first step in executing the great idea you have. Let’s say you have a great story idea for a book, time to pick up the pen and start writing the first page, the first word. Or if you have a business idea, time to step into the registration office and register your business idea. When you have started something, it’s easier to take more steps to move ahead. So make sure you take the first step in making your ideas happen.
Remember, an idea is just an idea until it is executed. Just like thoughts remain as thoughts, feelings remain as feelings – until actions are taken or these are expressed, nothing will come out of it. Breathe life into your ideas and make things happen today! Cause someone else out there might have the same idea, and if he/she executes it before you, your ideas are in vain. The ideas are no longer yours because someone else made it happened. So make yours happen today and start acting!
